Be A Toy Tug Boat!

I read a book to my daughter during my awesome day on Rad Dad Duties. We found it in a cafe. It was called Scruffy The Tugboat (and his adventures down the river)…. here’s my take on why you need to follow Scruffy’s idea to get out of the bathtub…

Flow is Good

Three weeks after leaving the corporate life for good to be a coach and consultant, I’m finding that time is going faster than it used to when I sat in a cubicle next to people whos weeks were filled with sending and reading emails and not much else.

Some people call the state of mind when you are so engrossed in what you are doing that time flies (or even stands still) – FLOW.  Mihaly Csikszentmihalyi is the Hungarian-American psychologist that I mention in this episode.  His book Flow is worth a read. You could get it from Amazon here ..

No Regrets

Hello Freedom Engineers,

I feel freer than I have in my life since I left a job and focused 100% on creating my own destiny through a business and following my vision.  And importantly, I have no regrets….

No Boss And It Feels Great

Hello Freedom Engineers!

Today I’m feeling great because it’s day one of not having a boss.  Last week I clocked my last hour working for someone else…

I have been working hard putting in place the action steps required to focus 100% on my own business, following my vision of creating a life of freedom and success and today that milestone is real…

Have I got it all figured out?  No way, not even close… but… I have 100% confidence in my ability to figure things out and the pain of living a life of regret has far more pull than worrying about knowing it all at this point…

I encourage you all to focus on your vision, your goals and take the necessary steps to put your destiny 100% in your hands.

See you next episode..

Defining Success

“Success is enjoying the product of your own dreams or making progress in that direction… looking at your own desires, your own possibilities and seeing if you can stretch yourself”.

Defining what success means to you, makes it easier to monitor your progress and make course corrections along the way..

Overcoming Fear

I’ve finally returned to the podcast desk to overcome an ongoing fear…

Upon reflection, I’ve realised that in trying to be the best I can in the various roles in my life, eg. father, partner etc.  I’d been trying too hard to podcast just for the sake of recording something.

Well, to break the chains of fear and anxiety I’ve opted for a change of scope and to return to my roots and my reasons and vision for creating this podcast.  To inspire, to educate and lead others through sharing my story of how I came to be here, focusing on personal development and success.

I hope this drought-breaking episode brings a fresh light to the podcast.

Thanks for listening..

Time or Money. Which is more valuable?

Which do you value more, time or money?  Are you placing more value on money and neglecting the things you really love to do??

The Battle For Freedom

Attending commemorative services for the 100th anniversary of WW1 Battle of Villers-Bretonneux I was reminded of the Freedom and Opportunity I have been given through the sacrifice that soldiers (including some of my relatives) made on the battlefield of World War 1.

The best way to honour their memory is to live the best life we can and make the most out of the opportunity we have and the amazing gift we have been given, life!

Get after it, face your fears… they won’t be nearly as real as those our ancestors faced..

Why I Got Excited When No One Showed Up To My Gary Vee Event

No one showed up to a Meetup I was hosting.  Ironically the lessons in entrepreneurship that I was going to share that I had learned and heard from others including Gary Vaynerchuk were applicable even more so to me after this happened…

That’s why I got excited because I know that this experience is going to be an inspiring story for someone else one day…

Five Things I’ve Learned From One Hundred

To all the podcast subscribers out there, thanks for subscribing…
To the Freedom Engineering first-timers, thanks for checking out the podcast, I hope you get some value out of it.
On the 100th episode, I wanted to offer some incredible gratitude and special thanks to the supporters out there including some other podcast hosts, from the podcasting community…
Brandon Handley – Fatherhood For The Rest Of Us…
Jeremy Todd – The Positive Side Podcast…
John Daly – Coach to Expect Success…
Ivan “Ozzy” Eyre – When’s My Time …
Samantha Ryser… The Power Of Passive Income…
All of whom have continued to inspire me to continue with the podcast.
And to my coach and mentor, Sam Crowley of Everyday Is Saturday ..  the man who started it all…
It’s been a turning point in my life… helping me to achieve more of my goals, release more of my fears and think bigger than I have ever done before.
Here are five things I’ve learned in one year and 100 episodes.
  • You never know who you are going to influence… but if you don’t get your message out there, you won’t influence anyone
  • Enjoy the ride… there will be frustration and failures… but you have to enjoy it and embrace it as a learning experience…
  • I think differently now… always looking at what certain situations or challenges can be turned into lessons for life… because I made the podcast about lessons in success… I’ve programmed my brain now to look at how I can apply these fundamentals of life…
  • It’s a self-fulfilling prophecy… your actions affect your outcomes and your outcomes affect your actions… either way, positive or negative… so you have to make the prophecy a positive one…
  • Release fear of failure by taking action consistently

Hope you enjoy the episode… If you do, please subscribe on Itunes, and leave a rating so others can find the podcast… thanks!
