The Compound Effect

The Compound Effect is a concept that is based around the idea that incremental positive habits or steps will lead to other incremental positive habits.  In isolation they do not look like much but when put back to back and allowed to grow as a combined entity, the results can be astounding.

Try implementing positive habits into your life and watch what happens over the long term!

“The Compound Effect” – Darren Hardy is a great book to read!

Engineer An Animated Life

Hello Freedom Engineers!
On the weekend I attended an amazing exhibition* from the studio Aardman Animations (the people who created Wallace and Gromit and other animated movies like Chicken Run).  Apart from being a fantastic exhibition, I had a chance to make my own animated film (3 seconds!) using modelling clay and I was reflecting on how simple animated movies are in design.  Basically a series of snapshots with small movements or some minor changes to the position of the characters or their features. These small changes when viewed back to back over time produce brilliant animated movies.
If we look at our lives as an animated movie, we can make just very small changes in our lives that will produce an amazing result.
Are you looking to produce some amazing results?  Just make some small changes that will add up over time to a great and successful life.

Inspire Before I Expire

Bongiorno Freedom Engineers! Back from a very enjoyable European holiday through Germany and Italy, I’m back on the airwaves…

I wanted to podcast while I was away (and thanks for eagerly waiting!), but I was so tired and exhausted from all the fun I was having with my beautiful family I couldn’t get them out (and also many wifi issues!).

In this episode I discuss a little about the joy of travel and one of the nuggets of wisdom I saw on a t-shirt in Rome….

I missed the chance to record regular podcasts, I missed my sister’s birthday, but I did not miss the opportunity to be present every day with my little girl and my partner for a great holiday…  Good to be back though… enjoy… and I look forward to sharing what I learned in future episodes..

Beware high expectations

Setting unreasonable expectation can be a quick way to disappointment. In personal and business life, finding the right balance between expectation and standards is critical.

I am focussed currently on remaining in the present moment as a father to clear unreasonable expectations and enjoy my daughter’s growth without judgement.

It’s important when managing your project to set clear expectations so that you may meet them and move forward with pride, confidence and momentum.
